with the speed limits being raised to 70-75-80mph, @75mph it takes 13.3hrs to drive 1,000mi

start at midnight, shutdown at 1100, start again at 2100 till 2359

    well well,we CANT have that

so lets mandate speed limiters on trucks @65mph

then we'll have 85mph cars slamming into the back of 62mph trucks

    LETS GO SAFETY!!!

Haha it'll be like the 80s again! I'll be out in the left lane cause you can't speed limit a mechanical engine.

Yes, but the good news is you'll burn up your 70 in about 5 days, then, the 64 MPH trucks will be blowing by you and laughing.

This is a prime example of why the dedicated lane and "home weekly" crowd, and the rest have two completely different views on speed.

It's no secret more miles per hour means more money for most, the owner-operators are probably more in tune with this notion then drivers for a large carrier who are focused on MPG, as opposed to the others who are focused on revenue miles that can be realized, and can the additional revenue (or not being late) mean more money then the realized fuel savings of driving slower and fewer overall revenue miles?
