Doubt that he has a sales contract. Just a price quote and an order. You haven't purchased a truck until the sales contract is signed.

Likes been said without a sales contract signed, they can do whatever they want. The trucks I ordered Feb 2021 built Aug 21 and received 12 of 21 originally were supposed to cost 152k but ended up paying 156k. The 5 of 22 slots I got, after having my March slots cancelled, are now at 176k when as recent as fall of 2020 I was paying 149k.

So, as you can see things are ah changing. I’m surprised dealers are sticking to their word at all when these trucks are going for 230 to 270k privately.

If I was you I’d suck it up and pay it, and be happy you have a truck. However, I’d never do business with this dealer again and learn to have a sales contract signed next time.

I don't think some understand the difference between a deposit and a down payment/trade in and sales contract.

The price of goods and services are through the roof. Inflation is in full swing. It is only going to get worse. If you need the truck ... Accept the situation and pay the price. Supply and demand.

Only issue I could see is if the dealer tried to keep your Deposit. As long as they are offering to give it back you will have to except it or pay extra. It sucks but it is what it is right now.

I picked the right time to sell my truck and get out if this insanity.

Go to the dealer for repairs.....it's what ever they say it is at $160 an hour.
Order a new truck, put down a deposit, it is what they say it is when it gets there.

What other business operates this way?????

A lot of companies are doing the same thing. They did not do it before most everyone else did and since it is a large purchase it looks worse to you. Look at new car prices as well. Unbelievable on some of the cost on NEW.

I would call their bluff and take the money back. Are they paying you interest on it?
