I got the 510/1850 Paccar again. On a 579 the 510 with Platinum interior was in the ballpark of a 450-ish Cummins and Prestige interior that they were ordering for lot trucks at the time.

NOBODY can get the Tractors, Trailers, That have been on order for a Year or TWO! I am talking about Companies that have STANDING ORDERS for hundreds or THOUSANDS of trucks/trailers annually! Regardless of the Manufacturer...... They are ALL backed up.... Who gets the priority on availability and pricing? Prime? Swift? Werner? Walmart? Knight? or.......... Single Truck O/O. We all know the answer.

If you don’t by throw away trucks you have a better chance over the Megas.

Give an example of a 2022 "Throw Away" truck, vs. a 2022 "Don't Throw Away Truck". Please include pricing and the difference between the components as well.

A 389 flat top with a 280 or 290 wheelbase biggest engine 18 speed throw in a painted frame and full lockers. You won’t find much competition from a mega. Dealers that specialize in such rigs ordered them and they are still slowly coming in. I got mine for 175K Peterbilt Sioux Falls. You won’t have many fleets to compete with other than owner ops. Also try a visit vs a sale over phone. That’s how I got a 22 Great Dane 78k with a carrier. I visited dealer explained my situation and had them want to help a guy starting out. What you know a fleet let two trailers go from a big order and I got one! It’s all in people skills and looking into a different network. I had no luck with Jx network or rush of Dallas. Dallas wouldn’t even give me the time of day. I had better luck with folks in Green Bay and Sioux Falls. I even had a lead on utility trailers shipped from Mexico and sent to Wisconsin rapids. They got 5 trailers from utility. Are they going to offer them to a random caller or someone that visits, gets work done in service, drinks coffee with them and asks about their weekend.I even wrote out a letter to Paccar about my family heritage in trucking, combat history and future intentions. I wore a colored shirt and had a portfolio in hand. I meant business and the dealer felt good about giving a guy a chance. I didn’t show up with flip flops or a bad attitude.

Throw away truck is one that probably will never make it to a truck show or sit in a museum. You can find a throw away truck operated by the scum of trucking, the ATA.

Nothing written on paper other than a deposit I don't think you will be able to get the vehicle for the price they originally quoted these sales people will be aware of this law after all this is how they make their living, if you's had agreed on a set price and it was all written down and signed then you'd have a valid contract and the salesman would be bound by that contract. So yes I understand the frustration however they did offer to give you back your deposit so that is a good thing.
