I worked for Werner for a year and a half, and was a driver trainer for 9 months of it, did everything I was asked, no late/refused loads etc, and I had enough of the low miles/pay/sitting like crazy and put a 2 weeks notice in. I told my dispatcher that I'd appreciate being routed home to drop off my gear, and would be happy to bring their truck back to a terminal. I also told him that I would perform the same quality work I had always produced, and that I would like to leave Werner on good terms. So I was routed in for a "safety issue" and was told that I was being terminated for idling the truck to much on a daily basis for months on end(ironic since my monthly performance review a week earlier was great, and this issue had never been brought up before). I did the best I could to make training pleasant for my students there, but I always thought to myself, if they were smart they would have never gotten started here. They run the company like a jail, no matter how hard you try, their going to muddy up your DAC and employment records when you go. :biggrin_25510:

I'm at orientation for another company now, not really where I was looking to go (UPS/FedEx OTR, or Roehl) but if I get a good reference here I'm sure I'll get there. I'm definitely never putting a 2 weeks notice in to a trucking company ever again.

So, many questions I want to ask.

Always wonder if the driver has a defamation character lawsuit in these cases.

Also, this kinda of makes the DAC report not reliable.

    Lastly, can DACFIX help?

Stop Crying!! How much notice would you give them if you really wanted to quit them?? NONE!!

You got skills... Go get another job. Problem solved.

Dang, pretty harsh! Didn't seem to me that he was "crying", just venting about mistreatment and unfairness by Werner.

Anyways, good luck to ya Rockstar!

HAHA ... If you are smart. Get routed to a terminal for home time, free from truck, and never look back if you are leaving a bottom feeder company. How many posts does it take to make people realize that the big boys ruin a persons dac's just because they can. I felt absolutely no negative effects from this choice.

I know for a fact. JBH will hire drivers back that have constant log issues after termination due to a serious DOT reportable accident ... I've seen it done, and I'm sure Werner would have no trouble taking the op back after 6 months. That is if he was desperate enough to put up with the mental anguish of working there again :biggrin_2552:
