Thanks to everyone for your comments! I appreciate the feedback. If anyone knows of any carriers who you believe would allow me into their cdl training program I'd appreciate names. I don't want to go to a private CDL school at this stage because of the accident. I'm nearly 58 so by the time I wait the 3.5 years for this to disappear from my PSP I will have missed out on a lot of OTR experience I could be gaining now.

    You are 100% correct.
Hit from behind is preventable and at fault.

Pretty sure Western Express will hire you from a private cdl school. The company is good about giving drivers a 2nd chance.

    What’s “supervision “
    On a traffic ticket ?

If you have an at fault accident and a pending lawsuit , you need to stay where your working until the lawsuit is settled .

i don’t work in a safety department but I’d think that a pending lawsuit would make you radioactive to potential employers .

"Supervision" is a conviction on my CDL but the judge accepted my not guilty plea of negligence as long as I didn't have anymore violations during the 6 months of supervision. Basically no one can sue my insurance company. Huge win. Additionally, the judge lowered my fees owed for the ticket to a minor infraction because of never having been in an accident in my life. It's the best my lawyer could hope for in that situation.

I'd love to stay where I'm at but my family is moving out of state. This accident happened over a year ago and the lawsuit is well underway and will likely settle soon. If I'm radioactive to potential employers, so be it. But I certainly have the right to try, don't I?

    Gotcha
I’ve had a couple of traffic tickets that wound up as a suspended sentence , where my lawyer had me plead guilty but if I didn’t get another ticket in that state for the next twelve months the one invoked guilty to disappears and doesn’t go on my MVR

    RutMat and Chinatown Thank this.
