It's a local independent agent (Morrison and Fuson). I know it was written with Westfield but I think they changed it. I'm not the one that handles the details so I'd have to check to make sure.

I'm sure I pay little more going with a local independent agent but the customer service is great. I just call my agent any time I need to change my insurance to satisfy a particular customer and he gets it done.

I will also add that we've been in business since 1984 and have had very few claims. I'm sure that helps on getting coverage when needed.

Issue I'm having is finding underwriters willing to write policies for $1m cargo. May well have to shop more local agents than national insurance carriers

I carry a million liability for civil suits against a good shoot or if I should hit a 300,000 dollar whizbang battery pack on wheels today by accident. It's not that expensive.

In Arkansas half a mil is plenty. Most 99% of juries quit counting at 500,000

I looked at this as well. Great West would write it but is was 10k per year and that is with no previous claims or losses. I can justify carrying more than 500k. I use a company out of southern cal to write overlay cargo on a per trip basis and is cost effective.

Great west told me they won't write policies for carriers based in ct ny nj. Same with northland.
Was a couple years back now at this point.
We talking cargo specifically. I have $1m motor carrier liability and $1m gen liability $250k cargo at this time

I realize that. Which is why I limited my post to exactly all that I do with Civil Side of liability.

Cargo Liability is good to have, but Ive been sued twice civil in Court directly related to trucking. The first was thrown out because he was in a dock area specifically not allowed to employees after the gate closed revealing him to be a late employee with a history of tardiness at work and after working at that facility for years he allowed my tractor to run into him backing into a dock in which NO One is allowed to be once a big truck begins manuvering.

The other was a trucking accident. Simultaneously there was 11 bikes short on that load. I was accused of stealing, I laughed at them and presented bills showing that these children bikes were loaded according to my count. There was revealed to be a SECOND unpublished count kept by the foreman in charge of loading who shorted me 11 children's bikes that day About a thousand dollars retail value.

That got thrown out as well. We never hauled from that shipper ever again due to it's revealed dishonest practices. To this day I don't understand how they profit by not having 11 bikes in that box. Not personally anyhow unless the man is running a operation diverting same to kids for cash money half retail...

At any case the car was covered by the insurance as they ought. To credit they did everything possible not to buy the nice lady a new car at her age.

As far as Cargo outside of OSD I know nothing about. Im strictly a company driver and there is no point in talking about stuff outside of my direct life experiences here.

I guess I should clarify a little. When I say I have 3M in cargo, we aren't talking about your typical van or flatbed loads. We are taking about big oversized specialized loads.
Here is a load that required 3M coverage. image.jpeg

I appreciate the few moments of illumination you have provided to me.

Im not trying to be strange or funny, it's just ordinary Inusrances don't have the capital in all the world to cover one loss at those levels.

The only thing that's left is the old Loylds of London but I think that went away after the war years.
