I have 1 week left until I receive my cdl, I am currently going to school at crst. Although I wanna stay near my living quarters here in Florida. Any ideas if I choose not to sign the contract and go over the road with crst where I should sign, once I receive my cdl. I am a newbie in the industry so I don’t have a good idea of any of the great starter companies, with terminals near Florida. So I would be able to get home and see family, atleast weekly.

Plenty of jobs where you can be home weekly or even a few times during the week.
Keep in mind, some of these don't openly advertise they hire new cdl grads for some reason, but they all do, so apply.
Fastenal
Gate Gourmet - deliver food carts to passenger aircraft at the airport.
Southeastern Freight Lines - make a visit to the terminal in Orlando and ask about "dock to driver" and "pickup & delivery" positions.
Windy Hill Transportation
Armellini Express
Sygma Network - this is foodservice hauling for Sysco.
Comcar - (comcar.com) has local/regional/OTR work.
Florida Beauty Express - run to California every week. A benefit this company has is that you can take as much time off between runs as you want, without fear of losing your job. You'll be tired when you return from California so that's a good benefit, taking some time off.
