    back story..

Also, one time a lady broke her leg bad while trying to jump from the back of my trailer to her dock. Well, 1 year 354 days later my company, and my driver is sued for 1 million. It was pretty scary to receive that and go through the process. Thank God insurance provided a lawyer and I was insured for 1 mil. Took a lot of weight off although still stressful.

This was a lady that hurt herself. My truck didn’t hit her, wasn’t at fault, and nobody died. Was sortof an eye opener.

Yes, I can. I didn't take any load off load boards for two months.

I called Progressive. I wanted to know what it would cost me to change it to $2 million. The change would be about $4,000. But I have 8 months left, so for the full year, it would be closer to $5,000. It is still lower than what I thought it would be.
When they changed my liability from $750,000 to $1 million they also raised it by $4,000. So, I can't understand their logic behind it.
I guess I might survive this since the rate should go down after that first year, I hope. That should level things off.

They might have money coming from somewhere, not savings. Their spouse with an income, opened credit lines, PUA benefits, etc. Not everyone is in exactly the same boat. And people survive in different ways.

Progressive's logic is different vs other normal companies. There are some crazy reports about them on this forum

It is one thing to have the 2 million limit or additional umbrella now when for the most what required is 1 million and quite another when everyone is required to have it _ 2 million.

When everyone needs 2 million, the premiums can be completely different.

From what I glimpsed online, the rate should go up by 25% for that change alone.

You shouldn't be that much concerned about it while not being a driver yourself but an office/warehouse person. The corporate shield is exactly for someone like you, giving you protection from being rubbed of personal assets in case your worker does something wrong.

It might be actually higher than we might think since we are at the mercy of insurance carriers.

Most householders, who can also cause wrongful death by their SUVs when using their phones while driving, seldom carry more than 1 million umbrella, if at all.
Kind of funny like this thread meandered, so I'll leave it at that
