I was getting ready to start typing about that. But you put it in very simple terms. Yes the money is almost gone. And it will be.
The Senate is in knots because (Sigh more politics) anyway.... at some point in the future there will be another mangled bill for our Dear President to sign. UGh.
Edit, the money itself is not gone. We are running on imaginary money. Literally a set of numbers you tap into a computer keyboard. If you had a computer with a big enough calculator to count that high accurately then you just created money out of nothing.
Record what people who got how much when and where and how and you have yourself a deficit debt sheet to worry about later.
In order for Uncle Sam to spend that money on us in a way we can understand (Cash money in your hand) he has to make it a law.

Go back and read the chart I posted yesterday which the SBA sent me via email.Rideandrepair and x1Heavy Thank this. -
it seems you can pick up a great deal of money two different ways for different repayment terms and interest.
Im still stuck down here with the 1000, 10,000 and so on. And wondering if it costs more to simply pay the STate Unemployment insurance fees associated with sending your employees home for a while. Rather than take on more debt. Since I don't know what a trucking company for example; pays UI Costs per driver or worker then I don't know which way it will go.
Im not trying to confuse anyone. I am like a ... trapped cat wanting out of a closed room by the cheapest cost possible if that makes sense. I would hate to take on more debt and would take a position that essentially says pay me rather than loan me.
$10,000 EIDL GRANT
It seems a very hard path to conserve or protect the existance of a business that employs people, produces revenue and pays employees a wage with which they can function in society.Rideandrepair and Scooter Jones Thank this. -
The EIDL can be used towards payroll, but is expanded for normal operating expenses BEYOND payroll. The way the $10,000 advance thing was presented at the beginning of the program was really bungled by the SBA.
If you have 10 employees you could get a $10,000 advance (if approved). If you have 1 employee (including yourself) you could get $1,000 advance.
My personal sense is that the funding for the initial EIDL is gone and may not be replenished. However, the PPP will.

Your experiences as you write this out stands out as one of the better stories I can understand. I sat on websites that tried to explain in detail all of the CARES Act and just threw them away as too much babble. YOU on the other hand is one person who is doing battle to find money for a purpose we all can identify with.
With that out of the way, MY problem is my own. Which shows in some of my postings that indicate that I don't quite have a grasp yet. I am working on that very fast and approach a point that this whole thing is a leaded life raft that will sink people who reach for it. Makes sense?
I begin to form a opinion that it might actually be less expensive for Pappy to park all of the trucks, send drivers to UI for a month or two or four and go home play with the grandchildren who will never have this time with him again.
Thats why I am split on this CARES situation. I don't think its enough, that good of a medicine or even necessary. Its grotesque the more I learn about it.Rideandrepair and Scooter Jones Thank this. -
I started this process a month ago and have had to sift through more crap than you can imagine...
My perspective was, and still is, that I needed (as a small businessman) to start building the hedge wall BEFORE the storm hit. If I don't end up needing it, great! However, if I do need it, I'm better positioned to survive it, than if I hadn't done anything.Rideandrepair, Tug Toy and x1Heavy Thank this. -
Thanks for updating @Scooter Jones.
I got my approval letter yesterday as well. I still haven’t heard anything about the online loan/grant. I also have not got an update on the $2400 for the wife and I.
On the Eidl loan I was able to also get shop rent, mortgage interest on some commercial property and utilities as well as my w2 payroll and company paid portions of taxes. According to the worksheet all will be forgiven other than $85.00.
I also have some real estate holdings as well as the trucking though.Last edited: Apr 14, 2020

I tell you this.
I would be VERY surprised to see a bank still standing by Christmas when this is all over and done with.
THAT would be a christmas miracle.Rideandrepair and KANSAS TRANSIT Thank this. -
Sorry if I missed this, but what did you guys put in the “cost of goods sold” section? For the EIDL (idle) grant. I’m thinking expenses if your a service based business like trucking?
Rideandrepair Thanks this. -
