When getting a DOT inspection, always claim that your BOLs (except the current one) have already been mailed in to your company.

Your comfort comes before any asinine fuel mpg goal that your company has set for you.

Drugs? You do mean legal ones. Right?

How about sleep instead to playing the coin machine?

Thou shall be expected to drive long hours, keep track of them in the truck's logbook. While some companies pay their drivers well, many truck drivers do not make a salary commensurate with what is expected of them. The hours are long and lonely. Burnout is common.

Thou shall get merchandise to its destination on time, load the truck, unload the truck, make sure the load in the truck matches the manifest sheet and a hundred other small duties.

Thou shall be responsible for his vehicle's operation, efficiency, management and safety, as well as for the load he carries.

When I was a rookie, hauling aggregate, an old hand told me this:

"Don't waste time, but NEVER get in a hurry."

    And my personal favorite:

Why in the world would anyone hurry to get to a red light.
