Well i'll be off for Montana in about a week and a bit.
getting my stuff together and looking forwards to whatever may come,
no real big expectations, but i've mainly heard good things about Watkins Sheperd, plus they have a terminal here in washington that is within 15 minutes of my place.

not completely sure dude, i know that if you have 1year+ experience they give you a real short like 3 day orientation. . . . overall i've heard plenty of bad reports for swift, but some decent ones too, i'm looking at watkins cause the good reviews, most of their terminals are in the western part of the US and i've got a terminal like really close to home. . . maybe like drop them a line or something

Skip Swift and call W&S on Monday. Its a 3 day class and then you will be on the road by yourself. Good luck.

Yeah, definitely don't have a year of otr experience. It's more like a month, or less. But I'll give them a call and see what their refresher policy is. I'm not thrilled with Swift but like I said they're the only ones willing to overlook the lack of refresher or recent schooling...

I wouldn't even give me a truck after just three days! haha. I'm still pretty much a beginner OTR. I don't mind going out with a mentor but shelling out thirteen hundred dollars for a refresher mill just seems like total ########...

Yea since your given experience won't grant you increased pay, if i were you id opt for the 10 day orientation.

yeah dude, opt in for those 10 days, they basically give you a mini driving school to make sure you know your stuff, are refreshed on anything you've forgotten or let atrophy and it's even paid for, once that's over it's off in a truck.

i'm really looking forwards to that and seeing plenty of interesting stuff, especially some of Canada, that will be interesting.
Hey AXE, you have a Watkins truck as your sig so i'm going to assume you are working for them, when they say as part of their tool package to bring a knife. . . . . what sort of restrictions are placed on that, cause i got this big bowie i was planning on bringing, how about when i cross over into Canada, would that be a problem?
