It might strain some brains but, water is a liquid that can make things wet, bit is it not wet in and of itself.

Here is another strain to the brain when defining 'wet'...
    UCSB Science Line

Depending on how one defines 'wet', water is either/or or something in-between.

It's a weather forecast not guarantee. Weather is about the most complex collection of processes on the planet. The national maps can show you the general flow of the weather, I just look at where the weather came from to see what is coming our way. I focus on radar, not forecasts. Radar is what is happening. The storms or precipitation on radar are usually building or decreasing and moving in a predictable direction. In trucking you often don't have much choice about where you are going, anyway. New drivers seem to park if there is a forecast of ANY weather or within minutes of experiencing any weather.

Living on the West coast means you don't have radar 100-500 miles West of you to know what's coming like everyone else in the USA. In the intermountain West the people West of you can be thousands of feet higher or lower, so you won't experience what those people 100-500 miles away experienced.

Snow is the most delicate weather feature and the hardest to accurately predict unless of some powerful geographic features like the ones that cause lake-effect snow or moist air rising due to mountains. Also, in the parts of the country that don't get regular snow the local forecasters get little practice to perfect their predictions. Think of the difference between a sniper and a first time shooter. The sniper both knows the many factors affecting his shot and the rules of thumb for quick and accurate enough hits, while the first time shooter just points and hits the trigger, while the wrong eye closed. 20,000 or 200,000 shots later the newbie will be a lot better.

According to the National Weather Service last Friday, Denver was supposed to get 6 to 8 inches of Snow today, according to the National Weather Service yesterday, we were supposed to get 3 to 5 inches of snow, when I left for work at 6 am, it was bitterly cold, but no snow. About 8:30 am it started to snow like the dickens, thought surely it would stick, at 11 am the sun was shining brightly, by the time I clocked out at 2 pm it was snowing heavily. Apparently, the weather forecast changes every 30 minutes

Denver can never be predicted reliably, even an hour in advance.

Must be 25-30 years ago now, but it was in the 70's. An hour later it was in the 20's and a blizzard.
A concert at Red Rocks was caught completely by surprise with people in shorts, t-shirts and tank tops.
The hotel where I was working was turned into an emergency shelter for hundreds.

    Useless.

Don’t use Accuweather either. They could say no snow or little to no accumulation the same day and that night you’ll wake up to 4”. Totally useless.

get the snow forecast app and it’s only good for two days.

This storm we were only supposed to be in the 3-5in range. Dumped about a foot. The 10 day is pretty much worthless
