I love the way they don't want anyone on "their special channel" but they have no problem getting on 19 and running their mouths, there have been several instances where drivers were trying to get some info on a wreck and couldn't due to a ham operator running his mouth talking to someone on the other side of the country.

When I'm on 19, I'm not a ham operator. I'm a CB operator who happens to have a ham license. When I'm on 28.400 USB, then I'm a ham operator.

Everyone's welcome to operate on the ham bands. Just get the proper license and operate accordingly.

As for the idiot running his mouth while people are trying to get the info on an accident, how do you know it's a ham operator? Do you know the person?

He was calling out his lic # when ever he started transmitting and went into great detail about where he was and who he was trying to contact in Oregon. I have also talked to several ham operators while going through North/South Carolina and in Georgia.

Most likely he wasn't who he said he was. No ham who values their license would do such a thing. While using the call sign on the CB bands isn't illegal, talking "skip" is.

I still don't understand how these 10 meter radios get here through customs if they are banned by the FCC. There seems to be no shortage of them...
