If the kingpin won't release when dropping a trailer, wiggle the handle from side to side real hard. Took me like a year to accidentally stumble on that. I would raise the landing gear a bit, get back in the truck, move forward a little, back a little, two three four times while cursing like a mother####er

I don't get mad while driving. I just chalk everything up as it happens and go on with life. No need to waste more of your time thinking about something that someone did that you didn't like.
-
I can keep getting mad from influencing my actions. Most of the time anyway. I can't just decide not to get mad. I don't know how someone would do that.

(Now don't get mad at me for posting that!) -
I guess you can drive on Prozac. I wouldn't take it though. I doubt it would work, and if it did it would be cheating.

1- tire chains = under 30, they say 50 but I had one come apart and ripped my fenders off. Slow!
2 - empty trailers before you get stuck guys out... tankers are easy but you just wreck stuff tugging loaded trucks around
3- left foot braking... key to being smooth
4- relax... no sense ever getting worked up. People suck, just smile and carry on
5- drive slow. I'm alwayse offroad and at the end of the day your downtime fixing stuff is never worth getting there 20 min sooner.
6- split every shift, your boss will thank you, it's super easy and your Mechanix will thank you
7- set your brakes often, it takes 5 minutes, just do it anytime ur under your truck.
8- grease all the time. It takes 20 mins, you have time while waiting around to load or unload and I can't stress enough how important it is
9- the money is in the bush. The hours suck the roads are rough, but there's no dot and there's something rewarding about being alone in the bush. Not to mention the money is often double highway wages.
10- the guys who get the most respect aren't the fastest, they are the people who don't break things, drive safely and think twice and never rush.
10-MThunter Thanks this. -
