Thank-You Greatly for your reply I will use that advice I'm hoping I can be put with an experienced lease driver to learn more of what i need to know otr ... by definition what would be considered experienced ... over 3 ... over 5 ... etc. years otr? i know the more the better in most cases but when can someone truly consider themselves "Experienced"? .... just asking ... not wanting to step on anyones toes :)

Dumb rookie mistake I forgot about:

Don't be a jack-xxx when your phone number is all across the back of your truck!

I remember one occasion when I was new & dumb, I got a little of the road-ragey going around, I got out of my truck at a red light to inform the idiot I'd been dealing with for 20 miles what I thought of his parentage, sexual orientation, education, and hygiene. (Mostly I used small words he could understand, say four letters on average?)

Well it wasn't 75 feet back to my seat when my cell phone is ringing.

Yup, someone from the safety dept. asking me if I'd had any "public displays inappropriate of a company employee".

    So,,,,, yeah.

    MM3Deg and Gumbo-gal Thank this.

If the splitter on the gearshift is blue, it's a 15 speed transmission.

Red splitter is a 13 speed, grey splitter is an 18 speed, black splitter on a different style shift knob is a super 10 or lighting 10 speed and a "straight" 10 speed only has hi/lo range selector and no splitter.

    Not necessarily.

He mentioned that it's a cement truck, so I'm more of the opinion that it would be an 8LL. Those have blue switches too.

Always, always stay calm. No need to raise your blood pressure over something that you may not have control over.

Don't get mad. It won't help you or anyone else.

Take your time and make sure you use both mirrors, all of the time.

Backing will take practice. Don't get flustered when you can't back into a spot on the first try.
