Well i meant 5 day weeks. I had a 6 day dedicated run for 16 years in the mid 70s up till early 90s. Just Sunday off. Now i have 5 days a week..once in awhile 6. My choice. Your correct alot are 7 days a week. Getting home Friday evening or Sat morning, and then leaving out Sunday is almost like 7 days a week. Or what is it? 14 out and 2-3 days off? At home? Ugh.

Because not everyone wants to operate that way. They have their reasons unbeknownst to you and it works for them. I'd never be an owner, because I know myself enough in which I'd rather not have all of that responsibility. It's no guarantee someone becoming an owner will make big money.

    stillwurkin and Coover Thank this.

Why are you singing the praises of the o/o life here.
Folks that work for others obviously are compensated well and have no other worries.
Something breaks I write it up..no problems.
You sound like you truck to live, me I'm home daily so...
You should take your question over to the owner operator thread.

    stillwurkin and Coover Thank this.

    #### hero! Are you just doing it to do it? Or digging out? I’ve spent my share of long periods out. But it was directly related to a mountain of debt I was working on.

Some people have plans, IE a house etc. I admire dedication when there is a goal/reason. But to do it, just for the hell of it? It will kill you at an earlier than normal age. Life is meant to be enjoyed, with different experiences ;)

You’re entitled to your opinion. I could tell you even stranger things about said company. But it would fall on deaf ears.

One mans dream job? Live in Hawaii, drive the lower 48. Being flown from and to home on the company dime.

We all have dreams. Some of us live them ;)

Truck driving weeks are easy … try 70 hours week at the office, plus another 10 at home, plus on call 365x24, 3 to 6 calls a night and 90 minutes a day of commute time … truck driving is a piece of cake.

Why would anybody work 70 hours a week at an office unless you own the business? I would say living for weeks in a space the size of a prison cell is a lot harder than working some cushy office job.
