Ive been researching for a month. Doesnt seem to be alot coming out of NH and the closest is "SWIFT" outta Syracuse, NY. I have 10 yrs as a yard jockey(using more than just an Ottawa)and CDL school done. I changed my license to Va recently but my daughter is in NH and im going back. I want to spend my hometime there. Since theres no OTR companies there anyway....would it be smarter to remain a VA licensed driver? Whats to OTR company for me?

Yea...Midlothian. Just concerned the limited time with with daughter due to OTR will be none-existent being based outta VA. instead of NH.

well what do you want, a trucking job or not..??
i mean for crying out loud we all had to make sacrifices during our times to make it in this business, you want your cake and be able to eat it too..??
you live up in NH, it's like living in some parts of Florida, if the jobs AIN'T THERE, YOU GO TO THEM...
case closed, good luck, good-bye.... -
OTR jobs are scarce out of NH, even scarcer with a recent CDL.
My best advice, get on with a local company in NH (perhaps starting as a yard jockey).
YRC in Manchester was looking for a casual driver/dockworker
NEMF has a yard in Concord
There may be some opportunities with construction and logging outfits.
UPS Freight has a yard in Belmont
Coke in Belmont
Two different beer distributors in Concord
Associated Grocers in Pembroke
H.P. Hood in Concord
Look at the local NH job websites, the local scene here has more companies hiring than OTR out of NH. (Not that it's plentiful, but OTR is "Wicked* hard to find."
*we use the term "Wicked" up here, so get used to it nowLast edited: Jun 23, 2011
