1956? we are still plated 73280. i can say i've weighed more, several times (IN, OH & MI) and never heard anything about it. they seem to be more concerned with axle weight than gross. long as you're under 80.

Same reason MI has all those axles and wheels! Saves the road, safer. Even tho them trucks and roads are piles of hot Sheet.

Ya, seems like they studied 2 states that did the 100K on six and truck accidents went down statically

We let rookies drive 140,000 lbs up here in Canada. The guy that took out the bus load of junior hockey players was only driving for two weeks.

I was delivering resins to particle board plant in Arkansas, Texas, Louisiana and Oklahoma. Been in several scalehouse checking in when the 5 axle log trucks came across the scale running 100k to 110k. Pretty much the norm for them.

Putting axles under wagons means less trucks on the road. I’m line haul and 140k is not unusual,,, depends on commodity. Tandem A-trains get ‘er done.

If they used crumb rubber for building roads, they would last longer than conventional techniques that require more maintenance. RAC roads support higher axle loading, are more resilient to cracking at high or low temperatures, produce a road that is more durable, requires far less maintenance and the process is cheap and provides a proper place for the recycled tires instead of throwing them in a landfill.
