Have you checked your actual odometer reading for actual mileage ? Also consider how big the towns are where you start and finish. For instance, you start on the "west side" and finish on the "west side". So part of the mileage run is thru your town, which could be 5 miles wide or more or less, right ? If it's only 5 miles difference, I wouldn't worry much. Kinda like a Cop allowing you 5 miles over the speed limit because different speedometers might vary that much.
jrjsi Thanks this. -
Man up. Hahah listen to those old timers.

And for five miles? Personally I wouldn't worry about it.Diesel Dave Thanks this. -
I also agree it's not that important, but there is a catch. If you are ever in a serious fatal accident and the state does an investigation or if there is a lawsuit. If the Attorneys or Law Enforcement finds through their investigations you were going outside this 100/150 mile radius and NOT logging. You might have a problem. It's this what if situation that to my way of thinking makes it prudent to follow the letter of the law.

You don't need log book pages for these days but you'd better have copies of time cards or other pay records with you . -
here's a thought if your company don't require a log then run one for your self then if you have an accident or some other issue your covered, simple logic.

We had a book just like a log book except the only entries you put in was the time you came to work and when you left. Rule is as the crow flies. You can check with different places to find the true distance but hub miles or off the speedometer should never be used.
