I work for a company that's very shady. We are local and they don't require log books even after 12 hours. They'll allow a driver to work as many hours as he wants and even pays cash after 70 hours if you want. I've always been by the book as I know that's my ### if caught.

Can we be a 8 day/70 hour rule and be 100 mile exempt? Is it possible to find out of we're registered as 70 hour company? Being they lie about everything I'm curious. It's amazing DOT hasn't audited us because they would have to close us down with the amount of daily violations. No pretrips logs, no logs after 12 hours, always driving over 11 behind the wheel and most guys would 14 hours a day and with a dump truck it's always driving time and we have 30-40 truck's on the road

    How’s the money?

If the money was good, and the trucks in decent shape, you just do you and don’t worry about everyone else. If anything happens with DOT, you won’t hang because of what everyone else is doing.

Yes, I know...it’s not what you wanted to hear, and I’m probably not the first person to tell you that either, right?

Why don't you just go to a different company?

But can any money be worth that laundry list?
    I mean when I did all of Do Bob's local work. I put in 70, 80, 90. Sometimes 16, 18, 22.
I never understood why you needed a log book if you weren't hauling logs to begin with.

It's not fair either. A pilot has to maintain a logbook but can fly without it!

Cash? Off the books? No finance, no romance. Have finance, got plenty of romance.

So he's gonna rock the gravy train for 40 guys from Pennsylvania in a mom and pop?

We may never hear from this guy again.

You asked the million dollar question in your first post. If the money was bad, they wouldn’t have 40 guys trying so hard to grab as much as they can. AND they sure as heck wouldn’t offer CASH. So, why is there a problem? What does your gut instinct tell you?

Ever wonder what went through the head of Judas Iscariot? Got ancient rock star status and people throwing their coats down at your feet and all and someone ‘rocked the boat’ for 30 silver coins when he could have held out for gold.
