As others have stated, I just idle the truck for the few minutes of microwave usage.

Wrap it in foil and throw it on the turbo an hour before you're wanting to eat.
That's what we did 25-30 yrs ago.

    Turbo Rotisserie Chicken.

Your inverter is protecting itself. You are burning it up from inside out.

    Microwave is pretty greedy.

Stop buying crappy inverters. Start thinking in a range of 3000 to 4000 or even 5000 watts.

Then you can run any microwave made in the USA even the old 50's Atomic Ranges.

you look at it like this. its amps x volts=watts. if it has a ac compressor like a real fridge. then there are start up amps. if not then there are running amps. you always multiply the amps x 117volts. this will get you the watts the toy uses. look on the back of a toy you want to buy for the ul rating. so a 700 watt microwave has about 5.9 running amps. you will need at least 1500 watt inverter.

if you divide 1100 by 117 that equals 9.40 amps. so my math is correct and your 1500 inverter is correct to run a 1100 watt unit. truck drivers i swear. TA round table math you do.
