I've had 12 1/2 yrs. experience driving otr (48 states) however I've been off the road now for 17 yrs. I 've kept my CDL current all those years but I've been in sales. Some companies have told me I need to go to school all over again. From what I understand alot of companies require you to work with a trainer for a month, so why spend $6000.00 on school? I've driven over a million miles accident free. I don't think I've completely forgotten how to drive. My son just finished school about a month ago, and from what he told me I have alot more experience than the few times they get to drive around the lot and on a few streets. Any suggestions on what companies would hire me without going back to school? Any info would greatly be appreciated.
    Thanks Vickz3 :biggrin_1square2:

I can't imagine a small "mom and pop" company would have any problem taking you on.

Similar boat as you, just keep getting told "go back to school" and quite a few times have been hung up on by some very rude recruiters...Good luck

Greensheet, any of those free trucking magazines at the truckstops (great resource), newspaper, internet trucking forums (lot's of 'em out there....not going to post them here though.....would be rude to the nice people that give us a free place to post by advertising other sites here). I prefer Google to search the web myself.
