Just took my 379 with an N14 cummins in to be on the ecm reader and run other tests. It would die and the only way to get it running again was to unhook the batteries and then rehook them. That was supposed to clear any codes so the engine could restart. While hooking up the ecm, they found a couple corroded connection with they had to actually replace the connectors rather than just clean them. A new position sensor, a seonsor of some kind ont he throttle and one in the intake manifold and all is well.

Point being, you mention you are in a rainy, perhaps humid area. Connectors can corrode in those conditions and cause all kinds of issues. I am in a high rain falla aea near portland Oregon.

Yep sure do...last time I was over there and was trying to start it ..when I went to unhook my battery's the DA. DANM battery cables were to hot to touch....so like I said its dealing with the starter n battery's as far as I can tell....wen I kept tapping DA starter it would start it ,without tapping it ..it wouldnt turn over unless I kept hitting...so I figured DA solenoid is bad.
