hasn't your truck been down for at least a week now? seems you could have and a service truck out there and been totally fixed up by now for less than what the down time must be costing you?
btw if your battery are showing 13.63 you still have a surface charge on the batery's should load test them to know for sure if they are good or not. also if your cables are hot, be sure to check all your cables for corrosion as well. once a year i take all my battery cables off and clean them all until there shinny as a preventative measure.

Many years ago while driving for a trucking company one evening they put a new end on one of the cables to the batteries. The next it overcharged all day long, & boiled all the water out of the batteries.
I told my boss what the problem was, they put a new end on one of the cables & it overcharged all day long. That evening they put a new battery on the truck.
The next day it did the same thing, I again told my boss what the problem was, again that evening they put a new battery on the truck, the mechanic told my boss it was my fault because of my CB Radio.
Once again it boiled all the water out of the battery overcharging all day. I again told my boss, & asked him if I could pull my truck into the shop, put a new end on the battery cable, along with a new battery, & see what happens. I also asked my boss to come & watch what I did so that he would know for sure exactly what I did. He agreed to it.
Never had another problem with it, everything worked perfectly that day, the boss of the shop ruined 4 of those expensive big batteries because he would not fix the cable on my truck. And the boss of the shop was the one who put the new end on one of the cables to the battery on the truck that I drove. Oh, the boss of the shop found him self without a job.
Years later driving for another company cross country I had stopped at the Petro at El Paso. After fueling up I had pulled over by the cafe parking going in to eat a bite. When I came out my truck did not start. When I got back out I saw smoke coming from the batteries, took the cover off, I did not know a mechanic had put on two of them bolt on cable ends, both of them had melted. I walked over to the shop asking them would they put all new battery cables on my truck. They said they would & that they would do it right now. When I got back in the 1st thing I did was show my boss the brand beautiful new battery cables telling him what happen. He said, "You did the right thing."
Sad to say many mechanics do not know how to properly place new ends on the battery cables of a truck. No telling how many of them have caused many problems for the driver of the truck. And them bolt on battery cable ends will work on a car for a while, but they are NOT FOR TRUCKS, "18 wheelers."
Its amazing the problems that a bad cable end can cause, & the many people that will over look it.heavyhaulerss Thanks this. -

One piece of advise from an old has been truck driver. And be familiar with your engine, most engines will do OK using a dab of starting fluid, yet it will cause trouble for a few of them, especilly if you use to much.
In most situations just a dab will do you. Maybe this you tube will help you to remember, just a dab will do you!
