12.7 Detroit manifold

    they all seem to crack. Will this hurt fuel mileage and is it better to buy a aftermarket like full tilt? If it improves fuel mileage it will pay for itself in no time. Anyone have any input? Thanks

    Yes they all crack and are junk in my honest opinion.
    Yes the bully dog / full tilt are worth it.
    Cant comment on mpg .

    Not sure my mileage improved after getting the Full Tilt from pp, but the fumes in the cab went away.

    You can also buy it directly from full tilt and save a couple hundred bucks !!

    It's more expensive if you buy it right from full tilt. Cheaper to get it from one of their dealers

    Full tilt said $1700, Fitzgerald is $1600 and Pittsburg power is $1450.

    Its a three pice manifold so u could just replace the one pice if you wanted to

    Just to have it leak and or crack again. No thanks.

    My brand new factory manifold on my factory reman hk60 lasted 18 months and started leaking at the slip joints.

    I've seen a lot of people complaining about stock manifold issues on the Detroit 60 and CAT C15 engines. Was this issue specific to those models for some reason, or is anyone still seeing the same manifold leak issues on the modern engines?
