Sounds like a good reason to open up the
Freightliner Emergency Repair Kit.
Sounds like injectors are going bad.Rideandrepair and jvillarreal82 Thank this. -
If your going to run this truck at all I would drop the oil and add two gallons of Lucas oil stabilizer to it. Might help prevent any more damage till you get it fixed.
Rideandrepair and jvillarreal82 Thank this. -

I had Injector selinoid leaking on mine. Fuel is oil only thinner. Should be fine. Ran mine till it shut down . Had 10 gallons of fuel added to oil in 60 miles!! Thought I had just blown injector as in the past. Anyway common problem all’s really needed is 1 new. Or buy a six pack for same price as 5. Mines still going good after 1.5 yrs. and mine has over a mil on OH.

Oh yeah I had 10 gallons of diesel on top of 10 gallons of oil. Only permanent damage was rear main leak got worse. Front main seeps ever since. I ran about 10 miles changed fuel filter same problem, decided to make a run home ran 63 more miles and it shut down. I figured it was a bad injector. As it was running rough. Didn’t think about it leaking into oil like that.Exact same engine as yours. The plastic selinoid on top of injector was squirting a lot of fuel. That might be your problem especially if it was running rough. You didn’t mention that though. Could just have a minor leak. Sometimes the little screws on selinoid come loose, usually they break. I bet 1 screw is broken off 1 injector selinoid causing minor leaking.Ofcourse it could be a bunch of other things I’m sure.Let Us know either way. Always looking for potential future problems.I only changed the one injector. Had 1 go bad a few yrs back also. That time it was just a bad o- ring causing excessive fuel into cylinder.Cost for Dealer to install 6 pack was $3000. Decided to wait and apply $$ at OH. Old Detroit still running good. They can take some abuse. I doubt the bearings are damaged ( maybe a little more worn ).I don’t know what you’re mileage is or OH or? Mines currently got 1.3 mil + on an OH. I really can’t believe it myself. I’ve never pushed 1 this far.
