If all things check out. Only thing left is a bad cylinder head. Will have to tear it back apart and get the one that is leaking magna fluxed. Magna Flux will show if there is a crack

Magnaflux isn’t gonna help here. Lmao

Couple questions is this all cylinders or just 1?

    Is it a DDECV

Always verify timing by checking the lift on an injector lobe. The gears are a hunting tooth design and only line up every x revolutions. If it was rolled after the bull gear install then you have a long way to go to get them back in alignment.

Are you sure the Jakes are set correctly. On a DDECV you use the spacers to bolt it down and set it. Then take it back loose to reinstall the Jakes and spacers. If you picked the rocker shafts up could they have turned?

they have a flat side for the Jakes to sit. Round side goes on bottom to seal off oil port. If the Jakes were set with them upside down then they were flipped right I can promise they are too tight holding the exhaust valves open

pushbroom, jamespmack and beastr123 Thank this.

Your 100% on "hunting tooth". I forget the amount, but your arm will want to fall off.
    186 rotations? Idk alot.

Maybe try starting it with jakes off?

    Plug the holes first.

    we have a DDECIII
we installed jakes tried to start, saw we had problem with low compression on all cylinders. we removed jakes, rechecked valve lash & all is good. tried to restart without jakes & still has low compression & spins extremely fast
