Yes a 3/4 or 1 inch pipe welded into the curve past the pyrometer fitting and extending at least 4 inches downstream inside to cause a venturi effect that will keep from pressurizing your crankcase.
12.7 s60, can you add a crankcase vent?

I had a 1” irrigation hose ran back on mine. Same thing happened, froze up in a snow storm. Lost 5 gallons before it shut off. It also always looked like the brakes were smoking. I’ve thought of different ways. Maybe going into a larger 1.5” pvc pipe, splitting it into 2 along the way. Ran back, each outlet would have minimal smoke. Still need to run it at an angle, for condensation to drain. Pittsburg Power used sell a contraption, just for such problems. It’s an expensive yellow box, must have a filter and drain. Don’t know if they’re still available. I considered using a 2” pvc plumbing p trap drain with a cap drain on the bottom, Occasionally take cap off and drain any oil build up. Maybe just leave the cap off, let it vent, while most would go into the pipe split towards the back. Big enough pipe may not freeze up. Other idea was coolant lines wrapped around the end of the pipe. Best idea was plumbing it into the 2” pvc, run it up back of cab. Put an upside down elbow on top, still need an elbow at bottom with a drain or home drilled in it. Maybe a combination, with coolant lines tapped into the bunk heater hoses, wrapped around, or running along side of the pipe. I’ve racked my brain trying to figure something out. I like the exhaust idea. Always thought it would have an opposite effect though. Another idea, was to run steel tube along the exhaust pipe with a small drain hole at the bottom elbow bend, with or without another elbow bend at top. The heat keeping it from freezing.
Elroythekid and D.Tibbitt Thank this.
