I was born in 81 so I only remember the mainstream hits. When my dad was driving we listened to nothing but 50’s and 60’s. I can belt out oldies like an 80 year old man LoL.
austinmike, D.Tibbitt, Dave_in_AZ and 5 others Thank this. -
It was for sure a hit some how. I was born in 76 but Dad was 59 when I was born. I know pretty much every kind of music from any decade it seems like.

Meeting done. Not much to report. Have to handle magistrate issue first. Basically it will come down to the judge’s decision. Worse case for me I owe $3600 to settle the bill.
Attorney is sending out letter of intent. He said that may result in the engine guy dropping the billing issue all together. Also may possibly open him up to negotiating on my suit against him.austinmike, D.Tibbitt, Dino soar and 7 others Thank this. -
Here are the cracks in the front cover.

So that was the whole chinggasa???
What about the vibration? -
They ran the overhead and checked everything else. They asked if I changed front motor mounts. Of course I did. Then asked if it was aftermarket. Nope, Freightliner. Said it was soft, almost spongy but looked new. Very strange. I forgot to ask to see it. Maybe that was the issue all along? Factory defect? Bad rubber? Did they react to a certain fluid and start to break down?
Putting it all back together today and seeing if they solved the issue. They still have to install Jake brake controller. Told them no rush. Do a good job.D.Tibbitt, Dave_in_AZ, Rideandrepair and 3 others Thank this. -
Here are some other things they found.
- No glue on the cam caps
- oil pan wasnt sealed. Old bolts and sleeves were used.
- front seal leak. Crank was damaged with prying device
-old style rocker tappets were usedD.Tibbitt, Dave_in_AZ, Rideandrepair and 5 others Thank this. -
- Rocker cover had multiple cracks. Wrong gasket was used and it was damaged.
- bolt missing from front coverD.Tibbitt, Dave_in_AZ, Rideandrepair and 3 others Thank this. -
Sounds like dude took every chance he could to screw you over on the rebuild. #### shame that you had to go through this with such an easy engine to get redone according to just about everyone.D.Tibbitt, Dave_in_AZ, Rideandrepair and 4 others Thank this.
