I was thinking same thing. Talked to shop that did the overhaul and the bull gear was NOT replaced :/. Should I go ahead and do this when I get it and what will that set me back for parts and labor? I have one shop that may be able to do it for 100 an hour.

    Rideandrepair Thanks this.

    Typically $850
I paid $850 parts (reliabilt reman) and $2000 labor. Parts may be more now. Shop around. It may pay off. Buy parts in a State that is sales tax exempt. That helps. Might want to consider resealing the inner cover, if it’s leaking. Also replacing the front main seal, and vibration damper. I think 20 hrs will cover all that. Not sure. Depends on the shop I guess. That’s what it cost me 21/2 yrs ago. Today probably $1000 for bull gear, $550 for a vibratech damper, $100 maybe for front seal, and maybe $50 for a big tube of anabolic sealer. $3700 would be a very fair price for everything mentioned, probably cost more. Even $4000 would be fair. Main thing is they do it right. Can’t let just anyone do it. Need to know for sure they’ve done them successfully in the past. Good time to replace radiator, or CAC if needed. They’re coming out anyways. Should only add cost of parts. Labors being done either way.
