Coleman, but neither will last long bouncing around in a truck.

I had an old coleman, lasted 4 years. I bought the new one and the plug melted in a week. I traded it in to walmart for a new one. Same problem. Coleman told me they have issues with shorting motors that cause the plug to heat and melt. I bought the big 48 koolatron and it is amazing. had it about 6 months and it was worth the extra dough.

You have to go with a model that you can find a replacement motor for. As far as I know, the newer Colemans, with the large bulge coming out of it on the newer models, the replacement motors sold in the truck stops won't fit the newer coolers. Because of this, I'd recommend an Igloo. The replacement parts can be found at just about every TA. I have seen Koolatron parts out there but they are few and far in between, and I'm not sure which models it fits. I'm pretty sure you can also find the motors for sale on the internet as well. At any rate, you need one you can find a replacement motor for, because the things were designed for weekend camping trips and excursions, I don't think they were intended to run 24 hours a day like us drivers tend to use them. The motor will start growling after 6 months, the bearings in the motor go bad, and eventually it will seize up. A replacement costs $20-25, and I usually replace have to replace mine after it's been running 6-9 months. When the cooler starts getting louder than my air conditioner, that's about the time I pull the motor out and replace it. I have the older Coleman, it's been sitting on my jump seat for the last ten years, and it's still going strong. I can't recommend the new ones. I wouldn't buy anything RoadPro makes.

Well had to go with the roadpro for now. On sale at the pilot for $66. I'm gonna look for a kooltron in my travels. Seems they have the best overall reviews.

Might as well have folded up that $66 into paper airplanes and flew them out your window while driving 70 mph.
