The end plug on the Coleman fridge is a terrible design. I ended up cutting mine off, and attached another plug that I found in the CB section of a truckstop. It has much heavier gauge wires and does not even get warm. The Coleman plug must have thinner wires to the internal fuse, that create too much resistance and heat.

I haven't actually had any problems with the coleman end plug *shrugs* :\
Everything seems to be working fine now, btw. No problems, and I have wendy fork prongs shoved in the sockets for a tight fit -
you have a whole box of what?
I actually do have an inverter, but it's easier using 12v plugs it seems. Since most devices have external power supplies, just seems like it'd be more trouble in contrast to 12v power supply going directly to the device. I may pull the inverter out though and try to place it in my setup here somewhere! I definitely wouldn't mind having a couple of 110v outlets.
