Electric sucks. You don't want to be waiting to eat to go to sleep.

Get a Jetboil or I found a butane stove at Walmart for $20. Both work well. I make scrambled eggs on the stove and I barely have time to put the eggs back before I'm having to stir it

I'm just trying to stick to electric so I'm not stuck for fuel for the thing. I've got one of those "Max Burton" stoves that uses butane. But I've found the cans in short supply during blizzard threats, let alone what we're going through right now.
Figure I might stay out for 1-2 nights max and then back to home base for a ten. Enough to hit my weights, play with my model train layout, and cook myself a decent meal.

I use this. It will boil water for my oatmeal, maybe 4nounces of water, in maybe 20-30 seconds.

    Just use a truckstop's microwave.

No dice if it's packed to the brim inside there. The slightest hint of a crowd makes me woozy.

If your going to keep the truck for a while why not add an inverter and a microwave. Even when your near home you’ll probably appreciate being able to heat up a hot lunch and having access to 120 volt power in the truck comes in handy for other things as well.

I worked a local job in a truck with a fridge and an inverter for a while. Tosses a microwave in it and I was a happy boy. Just cooked a little extra for dinner each night and brought the leftovers with me. Always had cold water and a few cans of cold mt dew too. Made the days much more pleasant.

  11. I use my Walmart Keurig (17.88) hot water to make ramen noodles , Oatmeal, Grits, Mac and Cheese.. rice a roni cups....Oh and coffee... 900 watts in a lowly 1500 inverter.
