I'm getting a 13 axle with bump steer. My question is can you use the bump steer while the trailer is loaded to help get around a corner?
I had a driver tell me that it can only be used whenthe trailer is empty. I thought I'd ask for ya'lls opinion.

What is bump steer? Joystick controlled from the cab? If you could get self steering tag axles, you can unlock them when cornering, BUT lock them when straight and driving.

Most bump steers are setup for helping you back up when lded.
Best thing to do is get ahold of who ever built the trl. and speak to their engineering people and see how that one was setup.. -
Bump steering is NOT full steering, it is only assistance. It can help you a little around corners, but you can't fully push the back end around with it without bending or damaging something with the system or worse

Bump steer is more for backing. Not for going forward. If you use it going forward it will change the way your trailer tracks and chances are if you are making a hard turn with your bolster pinned you stand a good chance of tearing up your pins and possibly even turning over your trailer. Again bump steer is more for backing and there really isn't any reason to pin it when going forward
