    Hello forum,

While driving down the highway at 70mph truck lost power. Happened 1 mile from a rest area (Thank you Lord). I was able to coast into a parking spot. Started the truck shortly after and all was well. I did receive the below code. Idled for a bit and took off down the road. No problems for about an hour and a half. Problem repeated itself. Coasted to the shoulder, stopped the truck, engine shutdown. I then started engine continued to finish my day (1.5hrs) and shut it down. Been doing some research today to see what i come up with.

Cruise control works as well as Jakes. I do have a VEC warning on the dash, but it's been like this since I bought the truck over a year ago which has not posed any problems.

A few weeks ago, the module for the radar system mounted to the top of the windshield lost its adhesive. The module was swinging from the windshield for the day until I was able to get some double-sided tape. Before I taped it back to the windshield it would beep a lot through the speakers. I did notice a piece of electrical tape over the eye of the radar before mounting back to the windshield. I left the tape on it. It would seem the previous owner was "tricking" the radar system seeing how those systems on a semi would be irritating.

    Any input is appreciated,

    Thank you,

    Tee

Check all your frame and body ground wires, at the battery and firewall mainly. Also check you positive connections, specifically the major positive cable at the battery running a fuse. The negative wire at the battery to the frame has a fusible link. I had the same problem in a 2015, truck would just go dark, no power. Stop, key off/on and would restart. Completely random when it would happen.

I recently had a couple of 'Engine fault, stop now' messages on my dash with no codes logged. My mechanic recommended I pull all fuses and relays from the engine fuse box (driver's side of engine on firewall), check for corrosion and reseat all fuses/relays. It worked apparently, no code in a week now.

Couldn't hurt to try. It's free and will take you about 2 minutes.

    Siinman Thanks this.
