    Can you swap out a 13 speed for an 18 speed in a 2002 w900 c15?

Anybody ever swap a 13 for an 18 in a 2001 w900L? Any problems with the swap?

Some of the older 13s and 18s were shorter by about a half of an inch, but a 2002 18 should go in seamlessly.

If anything, the driveshaft length may have to be adjusted.

If you had a Mack transmission, all you'd have to do is remove the lock pin in the shift knob that prevents you from using the high split in the low range. That's the only difference in the Mack 13 and 18...besides the shift pattern sticker, of course.

You try that heavy climbing a hill in low range and you'll find out why you shouldn't do that.

The internals are the same on a Mack. Different situation on the Eatons and others.

    Bean Jr. Thanks this.
