Above link says it all...1scooby and DrtyDiesel Thank this. -
the 14 is the maximum number of hours your allowed to work each day. After which you must take a 10 hr break.
The 36 hr reset is when you have worked you allowed 70 hrs in under 8 days (IIRC), after which you must take a 36hr reset to regain a fresh 70hrs.
Give it time, the real experts will chime in.1scooby Thanks this. -
Another experienced trucker said to drive 8.5 hours 7 days a week and you will never hit your 70, then right before a 3 day home time drive as much as you can, that way your reset happens right at home time.

After a 10hr break u cannot drive more than 11 in a 14 hour window. But u can work more than 14,dock work or whatever on the bottom line.Just have to be off 10 b4 u can drive again.U can split sleeper berth time, but no need to confuse u.And the 34hr,not 36, is if ur off duty 34hrs u can restart ur 70 hr clock. But the new HOS has some new rules on certain hrs that the 34 must have in it to be a restart.
