we have a glider ready for pick up in a few weeks and the owner agreed to let me make a muffler change as long as it's not too over the top. Wondering which muffler you guys think provide a throaty exhaust note and decent performance. I've seen people talking about the Donaldson m100463 in some threads but none specifically related to the 02 emissions series 60. Thanks for any input

It may help to add that we will be pulling an RGN so we're not expecting high MPG. Any little bit will help. It's more about letting it breathe

This is what I would run. Little more bark but not as bad as a straight pipe. You can get them 5" in/out 5" in 6" out and 6" in /out.

Ive never run the first hand but from hearing trucks with them the sound good.

What kind of truck are you working on?

Thanks I'll look into this one. The truck is a 2016 Coronado glider. 550 horse 14 liter Detroit 60 the 2002 spec. If I remember his words it has the egr but that's it emissions wise. 18 spd with 3.91 rears. Should be fun to pull with. I just want it to have the grunt to match. I hate the way trucks sound with the DPFs on them so I'm happy he's even letting me change the muffler period, it took some convincing lol

Ok. Not sure the ones I linked will be the most cost effective as they are kinda made to mount on the side of the cab. Im betting you are looking for an under body muffler. So a 5" in/out buy like 30" long will probably be better or maybe just a resonator. The stacks running up along the cab if they are mounted by the doors will be just straight pipe Im guessing.

Yeah I just seen that. The threads I was browsing earlier everyone was talking about Pittsburgh Power and Walker and how those models are rebadged Donaldson products so I'll probably just follow suit. Those people were talking about mostly N14/ C13/C15. To me Detroit sounds a little different but I could be wrong. I was wondering what most Detroit guys had tried. Kind of like how after a while you know a fox body 5.0 mustang from a LT1 etc before you see either one.

Sense you're trying something different I would see if you could run a day or two straight piped just to see if its to loud or not. Plus it gives you a base to compare what you have now with.

Yeah if he'd allow straights I'd just do that but to put it in perspective he feels the cascadia I'm about to get out of could be quieter and it's got the dpf. So the high flow muffler is a compromise based on the fact it will breathe better. If I suggest straights he'll probably change his mind. I decided that whatever I do I'll keep the stock muffler put up just incase he don't like it.
