16 freightliner coronado led blinker problems

You need to see if can bus designated LEDs will work, they still may not. Regular leds will not work properly on these trucks with can bus systems.

No such thing as an led relay AFAIK.

 

The flash signal (pulse) comes from the dash ICU and then routes through your turn switch then controls relays. It might be able to be programmed differently, but I’m not for sure. I work on a fleet of coronado’s, every one has a standard the bulb for blinkers/clearance in the headlight and one behind the cab. (The tail lights are on a separate circuit.) I’ve found that one or the other can be changed to LED but not both. So if you only have one amber clearance/turn on your unit then you can’t change it out.

 

On older vehicles the flash (power pulse) for the turn signal was created by a flasher relay. It was an actual part that could be removed and replaced. Freightliner creates it’s pulse from the computer in the Instrument panel module. So it can’t be physically changed with another part, but it might be able to be programmed to use lighter loads (LED’s vs incandescent bulbs).
