    16.00 an hour for a P&D job?

To me that depends on the nature of the freight he'll be dealing with.

15 stops a day? Liftgate deliveries? Not enough money.

But if it consists entirely of pull-and-park at a dock with all standard size pallets, and no inside or residential deliveries, it may not be too bad.

I started on the road this week, we logged 65mph, only ran 2200 miles, started at 4am last Monday morning and finished at midnite Friday but had to drive 2-1/2hrs to get home still. Didn't take a shower all week. Had 5 hrs sitting before dispatched. Had 4 hrs sitting while being loaded. Truck lights quit working, 5 hrs to get repaired. Multiply .30 x 2200 = $660 wow. I would take the job if I were in your situation. It doesn't cost ten dollars for a shower at home. If your truck is broke down you are still getting paid. Sleep at home vs lot lizard truck stops? No brainer.:biggrin_25513:

No shower all week and only drove 2200 miles????????????? Some thing doesn't add up here. There should have been plenty of time for a shower in that slow week.

NO way I'm going all week. I can't stand 3 days if all I was doing was sitting around on my butt let alone working.

It usually dont cost ten bucks to take a shower on the road either unless you were fueling at fuel stops with no facilities. I couldnt stand to go that long without a shower.

:biggrin_25513:I had the time but didn't want to pay that. 2200 miles and a lot of waiting. Found out I do like idle aire but I don't like designated fuel stops. Not what I thought my first week would be like.

was that we logged 65mph but that doesn't determine how many miles you get paid for or how many miles you run. This log book crap is ridiculous. Waiting on loads is terrible. Waiting to get loaded is awful. Designated fuel stops, sometimes 90 one way unpaid miles out of route is stupid! I may finish my training period, or even stay 3-6 months but I will be looking for an hourly job more local. Being away from home all week is not worth this amount of money to me.:biggrin_25512:

OTR, or home every night? No decision for me, it would be home every night. Right now I'm at $16.00 an hour, in Indiana. It's a little above average wage around here. I'm not getting rich, but we're doing just fine.

    TA - $10

I'll pay and grumble the whole time. I can't sleep when I need a shower.
