Yes they do as long as they are open to 10' they will give you 60,000lbs if they are closed then you only get 53,000lbs

Both states?

Yes both states. In New Mexico you can get the permit at the scale up to 60,000lbs as long as your gross weight isn't over 140,000lbs and your hight isn't over 15'-5". At 15'-6" they want a route survay and for a pilot car with a high pole. Texas will ask you how wide your tires are for the permit. I believe they go by the scale of 600lbs per square inch. A 6 1/2inch tire should get you the 60,000. I run 235/75R17.5 on both my trailers and they've given me the 60,000lbs and a max gross of 126,000lbs with 15" steer tires.
