Anyone have any experience with the 160 academy carrier scholarship program?
Is it any different from the company paid schools?
    Thanks for any responses :)

They opened one here in Columbus. I spoke with them a while back. The companies they were working with then were H.O Wolding and Swift. Don’t know if they have added any other companies. I was told it was 4 weeks total. I think they told me one year commitment to company sponsoring training.

I know the post I’m replying to is 3 years old, but in case anyone is curious...
The scholarships are not provided by 160 Driving Academy. I live in Texas and I had to apply for financial assistance through Texas Workforce Solutions. It took 4 weeks for them to process my application (after providing them with all requested documents), then I was notified that I was approved. Texas Workforce pays the school based on my attendance and performance (weekly basis I think).
It might work the same way except that the trucking companies hire the student immediately after they receive their CDL

A carrier scholarship program is likely similar to a company administered program, with the main difference being that the carrier is outsourcing the schooling. If that's what you're referring to then it will likely involve repaying the cost of schooling via a contract to drive for the carrier for a year or so, same as if the carrier did the schooling themselves. At my school there were several Schneider scholarship students, getting free schooling in exchange for a one year contract.

As far as quality of the schooling, that depends mainly on the quality of the individual instructors, as well as the ratio of instructors to students. 5 students per instructor is good, 20 students per instructor is awful.
