Yea, had my first appointment with a VA rep down at the Work Assistance place today about applying for WIA. The Government allows $5K for assistance IF you qualify. He handed me a sheet with their approved Driving Schools in my area and they were all 160 hours and ALL $4,995.00. Imagine that!
Wow. I didn't think this thread I created back in 2010 would get revived. LOL. Anyway, I tried OTR for like month back in 2011 with and didn't like it. I've been working local jobs since then. As far as the amount of hours training, I really don't know the answer. It's probably just strictly school. I believe starting in February 2022, you have to go to a certified school in order to get a CDL. No more of riding in the passenger seat with your father or learning with the family business.
