160 hours vs 60 hours

$10,000 for a 160hr school? Holy hell man! I'd run, find another school, or go to a company sponsored school... That's freaking highway robbery... On top of that $5000 for a 60hr course is insane. I went to a 220hr 8 week course and only cost me $4500. Where are you from?

 

$10K is way to much for cdl school.
Neither school has a 160 hr. course? 160 hr. course is only 4 weeks.

 

There's a few companies that will hire with that 60 hr. course, but they're food service. They hire you as a driver helper and you and the other driver have to unload several stops every day to restuarants and fast food joints.

I think Prime Inc. hires from your state for food grade tankers and flatbed cdl school. If you want reefers try Jim Palmer Trucking and for dry van Millis Transfer.

 

That's your call. Some of the companies I listed for you in another thread will reimburse your tuition money. Maybe $6K or $7K anyway.

 

Have you looked into traveling for school at all? For instance lake superior college in duluth has a great program that is far cheaper than either of those options. You would be money ahead even after moving and living expenses vs your 10k option.

 

PA has some cheap 160 hr. schools at community colleges.
