I'm new here, and really appreciate ALL the great info. I've been putting my '88 Pete' 379 road traccotor into a dump truck for years. lol! Tomorrow I'm adding a rigid pusher wiyh duals, I'd like a heavy front axle. Anybody know how new of 379 doors will fit my '66? Anyone have anything for sale?

    Thanks,

Can you please tell me a little more about your dad's T800 with the 14600lbs front axle running the floaters? I just bought an T800 (tank truck) with that same front axle that I'm converting it to a tri-axle dump, here in Florida we run 70k lbs, so I'll be hauling about 21.5 tons, how much lbs or tons does your dad hauls on his truck? any problems? I'm wondering if I need to upgrade it to a heavier axle, thank you very much

The dot goes by the sticker on the cab as to what weight you can haul on the steer axle, adding the floaters don't cut it.
Buying a bigger axle don't cut it either, unless you buy it from a dealer and have them install it. Then and only then will they change the sticker.
At least that is what we ran into 2 years ago on a t800.
If you ever drive one of the trucks with twin steering boxes, you will love it, especially in the dirt.

    Cat sdp Thanks this.

    Hello folks
    I have a 2019Peterbilt 567 heavy spec tractor
The truck came out from factory with
    Wide base steer tires 425/65/22.5
I’m doing a long miles heavy haul all the time, 600 horse power engine
my fuel average is 3.1 or 3.4 on the flat road 5.4 empty and these tires getting overheated in places like Nevada desert and start eating the side wall of my steer after 30 k miles, I guessing that my fuel consumption is high because of my wide base float steer tires
I called the Peterbilt they told me that these tires designed for local jobs only, not for the long haul, when I asked them what tire should I get for the long haul they didn’t give me the proper answer what size of tires to choose from
Now I’m getting read of this wide base tires but I’m confuse what size tires is going to be ok for the front, my front is rated for 20 k pounds.
    Any idea you guys have.
I like the Michelin 315/80/22.5 but I’m not sure if this is the right choice.
