18 wheels or trash hauling?

The Amish operate in two sects geneally traces back to 80 People in Switzerland more or less who came to America a long time ago to seek a living away from persecution. My family has some Amish in it which I am working on researching but it is not easy. We have been "English" for at least 4 generations back to where it may not be a significant part of our history we don't know yet.

The other kind of people who do not pay money much attention are those who have enough of it not to stress about it. Money comes to the bank, bills are paid and repeat next month. When you won a business and youre paying around 5000 in montly natural gas billing and god only knows how much for electricity to support a million plus dollar eating place long ago that kind of money takes care of itself. We were lucky to see changes coming to sell out and get out while it was good.

All that money? Poof. MWAH. Courtesy of the State who demands that in certain diagnosis of dementia etc you cannot have 2000 dollars to your name and you cannot have any assets at all. Then you will be given the care you require.

And so a multigenerational old money bites the dust via the state. It is not about the money, we kids have no problem with it. That is not a foundation of us being loving or loved as family. (Fortunately....) but when that relative goes Im going to miss him. Everything he has said (Which was very little but extremely important) has been spot on.

 

Some where along the line this post changed. So to the op I say. Take the trash hauler job. You NEED to make only enough to barely survive, until the divorce is final. Remember if you lose your house. How much you have to pay her to leave.

They can call it child support all they want. But its really go away money. Cause no matter what you pay her. Your always gonna get the call. Daddy I need, or your kids need xyz.
If your a good man who loves his kids. You will make sure the kids get whatever it is. You no this, she knows this, the kids know this.
So you need to put yourself in a position to pay her as little as possible.

As far as talking to her. You HAVE to deal from a position of strength. When she calls you, tell her your getting ready for a date. You will call her back. Then wait a few day before you call her. Dont' be a jerk, but dont be nice. Tell her what a fun time you had on date. How she would have loved it. Dont be all "i miss you pkease come home" That make you look like a pathetic little man.

 

I like your post, but let's take it a step farther. The most VALUABLE thing that you have is your Name. The most VALUABLE thing that you can ever give any other person on planet earth is your Time. Your children have your name. Give them your time. When you speak to her, she will learn that the only way that she can ever get your Time is when it is about your children. That's all she should ever get. Got it?

See, she did not value you when she was with you. She did not value your name (hence the divorce) and your time (hence the infidelity). Do not tell her anything about what you are doing because that will only devalue you. Do not tell her about any dates because that is a silly game and she will see through this. She's NOT stupid, she will see through this.

Ex: Hey, what you do for the holidays?
Guy: UHoh...are the kids okay?
Ex: Yeah they're fine...I...
Guy: Ah! That's a relief. Hey I'm a bit busy...chat some other time. Bye.<click>
Ex: ...?

No smalltalk. No arguments. No closure. Nothing but the kids.

One more thing, those women you are doing around town that treat you like a rockstar, STOP. Bad thing to do. Small town, remember? Everything you do affects your kids. They have your name, remember? The Adventures of Peter will get back to them. You shouldn't drink so close to where you piss.

You need to heal. She left you for another because you were weak and valueless. If you dont figure out how to keep your value in a woman's eyes, you are bound to repeat this again. And again. If Peter needs an adventure, go to another town.

Exactamundo. You're getting the rock star treatment from women with less value than your ex. Her trash. They are licking up her trash. See what that does to your name and your value yet? Listen to what I am saying, can you not figure out NOW, how to add value to the most valuable thing that you possess?

It's exactly what @TripleSix is recommending. Others have given some good advice also.
Don't talk to the wife unless absolutely necessary and then keep it to few words and to the point.
Play it cool and be polite to the ladies of the town; that's like saving money for the future. It'll pay off because now they have to put in effort to win your time and heart; at least that's what they perceive because you're in control. They see you as a strong person and worth the fight to win your heart.

 

If he's thinking of shacking up because he needs a place to stay, he needs to go ahead and go OTR for a couple years.

Forgot to mention, as far as value goes. Your co-worker...he's scum. She knows that. She went to him because he carries himself as more valuable than you did. If you do what I tell you to do, that will greatly increase your value to her. She will try to get you to come back. She will want to talk about "us." There is no US, remember?

Understand what that means. Paradise was lost. That what you had before is gone forever. There's no reason to ever again talk with god about Paradise after you have eaten the forbidden fruit.

Yes. But that doesn't mean that in the future, you can't go forward towards her.

Trust is broken. The relationship you once had has been destroyed forever. You are no longer the same person. You have been devalued. She has a new man. You are the ex. The has been. Defeated and dethroned.

I want you to build a new value. You should have no desire to go back to what was, because she doesn't really value that. But if you build a New value, she will like it, be attracted to it and desire it. She will drop the new guy hard for an increased value version of you. The old you would wet your pants for that opportunity. But think about it, as much as you may still possibly love her, do you want to go back to the way that things were or would you rather have more value than you did before? It's a no-brainer, right? Then slow down. Cool off. Okay? Focus on your goals and go full tilt towards reaching your goals. Women will find this attractive...and not just those skanks that you are wanting to bone and shack up with. Better, higher value women.

You already have kids. I wouldn’t really focus on another relationship. Those kids need you. If it were me I’d do the trashtruck job until you’ve settled with the divorce issue. I would then go back OTR try to make as much money as I can and saving a good chunk for the kids. Seems like the wife is scum to me, seems she is more worried about herself than seeing that this relationship fiasco is going to be detrimental to your kids. I would go OTR and talk to the kids anytime I get make #### sure you let them know you love them and you’re working hard for them. You already got some kids I wouldn’t go about in another relationship only to pop more kids and make your life harder. This is my opinion take it with a grain of salt.
