I'm 18 years old, and I'm looking into getting my CDL. Says i cant leave the state of michigan till im 21 in a commercial vehicle. Is it worth it to get it? Do companys hire people who cant leave the state? Thanks.

some companies will but some people say wait untill you can go over the road / out of state before you get your CDL.
You will need to find a company that is willing to hire a 21 year old though I seen alot that will not hire until people are 23-25 but there may be a couple that will hire you when you reach 21. -
My input.....opinion.
Yes, it's worth it. You can hire on with a local/national freight company to work the docks and spot trailers.
Many of the larger LTL companies require that you work the docks for awhile anyway. So you will be ahead of the game. You'll also be experienced at hooking up doubles, when the time comes.
You'll have experience backing also...before you hit the road. Although it may or may not be practical experience...anything is better than nothing.
Beware the truck driving schools..... use your local Community College and save huge $$$$. -
I started at 19, got my cdl, got a job 2 weeks later. Was out there playin with the big boys..within state lines of course. Go for it.
