18Yr Should/Would you have started trucking?

    lol he’s not wrong about that. If I were 18 again I would see what happens in the 2024 election first then if things change I would enroll in the military. My brother in law just got out of military retired a lieutenant colonel after 20 yrs of service and has close to 3 million in retirement. I think he gets like 7,000 a month, free health care, lives in Texas so no longer has to pay property taxes which is about 35,000 a yr on his 500,000 house. You could retire from military at a very young age then start your trucking career.

    My son is 21. Has his CDL and knows his way around trucks. He saw the writing on the wall and got into the electrician field a year ago and is doing great with it and makes good money. He's ambitious and learns quick. I'd say keep the trucking as a part time or fall back gig. Its no life for someone who intends to have a family some day. Same with most other forms of the transportation industry.
