Here it goes, I've had truck in shop after shop with little to no help. I have the auto start/stop button feature on my truck and when either the batteries or the oil temp or other factors get low the truck will autostart to recharge batteries or heat up engine. My question is why after autostart does my no idle heat turn on everytime?
I leave my truck parked for 3 days [Friday til Sunday] for my home time and in the summer I come back to my truck scalding hot because the auto start no idle heat turns on after engine shuts down. If I run the truck with ac on at night and trucks auto starts to recharge batteries the nonidle kicks on not the ac! Also if I don't even use no idle ac or heat when auto start is complete and engine shuts down the no idle heat is auto turned on!
I'm asking or wondering if anyone knows how to change this or if it's an data logger issue meaning have to hook up to laptop through port and change its parameters? Or is that just the default?

The body controller will turn on the heater if it sees the sleeper or cab temps were set to hot before you engaged the auto start stop. It is also comparing the bunk temps to the ambient air temp sensor. So those need to be verified to be correct with the laptop. There is also a recall for some LT regarding the heater. If you give me the last 8 of your vin, I can check that for you.
Travelinsoldier.rc Thanks this. -
Totally appreciate the response I don't have the Vin handy on me as it's the weekend. But to kind of contradict your answer even if said controls were on ac in the front cab no idle heat still comes on when auto start happens likes its the default setting even if cab and bunk ambient Temps are high!?!

What is the temp set in the bunk controls? I don't think the body controller is monitoring the front controls, only the bunk. If you set the bunk to full cold and it keeps resetting to full hot all the time, then I would suspect the bunk hvac module losing memory at a key cycle due to poor battery supply wiring or a faulty module itself.
Ssgtkevin and Travelinsoldier.rc Thank this. -
So the temp controls for the bunk are numerical they are hash marks for both the fan and temperature.
I don't think the BCM is watching front cab Temps because if the front is ac will still turn on heat.
The last part that you stated is exactly what is happening even if I have the bunk controls set to cold at any level, it will revert back to heat but not at the same fan speed or level of temp as previously set. Now this is where things get tricky because it WILL remember the heat but not ac!
I believe it will probably be the module as you talked about because the wiring is in good order but again I could be wrong.
Again thanks for your response don't understand why people like you can narrow it down pretty good but yet the shops I've been to are like everything working fine or can't comprehend what I'm telling them is wrong, I think I've explained what's wrong pretty clear......Heavyd Thanks this. -
Sadly, there is major a tech shortage. Not every tech is good with electrical and electronic diag to being with. So problems like yours can be hard for average shops to diagnose.

Does this happen only parked at the house, for a long weekend or a few days off? Does this happen when parked at a shipper or truck stop for a few hours?
-
This happens when truck is parked for the weekend about 2 - 3 days. I had the module replaced and now it works fine, but now there is another issue with the warmer weather the ac will cut off after extended use and will only kick on for like 5 mins and then shut off

Hi,
Did you figure it out no idle ac shuts off, I got the same problem and wondering if you have succeeded
Thanks
