I meet Ernie as a kid. I remember him letting me and my cousin climb in and look around the old cabover. I can't remember 100% but I think it was from my grandma and his wife being friends.

The Mack B-81SX I drove was made in the 60s.had a 200hp engine,,quadraplex 20spd, 20K front, 58K rears, and no air or spring seat,,it was a dump truck I hauled fill dirt to the inter harbor in Balt,,it was a ##### in the city with traffic lights every other block

The K block still holds the record for the largest displacement engine ever made for on road use.
The K block was pushing 600+ hp out of the box and was the stuff of dreams back in the day when many trucks still ran Detroit 318 screaming jimmies, the average fleet truck had maybe upwards of 350 hp, 400 hp Big Cam Cummins and CAT 3406B/C engines were owner operator luxuries and you were a big dog if your engine pushed 425.Last edited: Mar 20, 2015
